about malik

when malik was born, his fate and future were as well. malik was the only son of a tomb keeper. his adopted brother rishid, was not a blood member of the ishtar family. malik's mother died while giving birth to him. malik's fate was to recieve the tomb keeper's iniciation. during this ceremony, he had scarred caverings engraved in is back (shown above). these carvings are said to be the pharoh's secret. and also, after the ceremony, an evil was born inside malik's heart, and he developed a strong hate for this so called 'pharoh.' now he was forced to protect the pharoh's tomb, and await his return, for the rest of his life, until he had a son. he always dreaded this, and didn't want any part of it. rishid volunterred to take malik's place, but malik's father would not allow him to, for rishid was not his real son. one day, isis, malik's older sister, brought malik out into the outside world, into a market. this was forbidden in the tomb keeper's family, but isis thiought malik deserved to see the outside world. rishid said he would cover for the two of them. at the market, malik saw many things he never dreamt he'd see, such as a TV, and a picture of a motorcycle. but soon, a stranger encountered isis and malik, and said that the pharoh would soon return, and that they must return home. this confused both isis and malik. isis quickley took malik home, but when they arrived, they found a very wounded rishid lying on the ground. malik's father decided to punish rishid for allowing isis and malik to go to the outside world. this caused malik's evil to grow, then, take over. malik's evil side over took him, and this evil side is best known as 'yami malik.' yami malik took control of the millenium rod, and pinned malik's father to the wall, and sent him to the shadow realm. isis tried to stop him, but he pinned her to the wall as well. after malik's father was killed, malik turned back to normal, seeing his father dead before him. the mysterious stranger appeared before malik's eyes again. the stranger, known to us as shadi, warned malik that his evil would only grow stronger. malik was very scarred of this, and rishid protected him. but from then on, malik's darker side yurned to be free again...

now mailk is older, (and sooo much hotter!! ^_^) and has journied far from his home in eygpt. he gas come to america. and was drawn in by kaiba's battle city tournament. he wished at the battle city tournament to obtain more powerful cards, because of kaiba's new rules and regulations for the tournament, obtaining the loser's rarest card. malik's real reason for joining the tournament is to try to obtain all three egyptian god cards; obelisk the tormentor (held by seto kaiba), slyfier the sky dragon (held by yugi), and the winged dragon of ra (held by him). it is legend that if all three of these powerful cards are possesed by the same person, they could have the power the bring the world to it's knees. this is exactly what malik wants. he thinks that if he posseses all the god cards, that he'll become the new pharoh. and to posses the power of the pharoh, he must defeat the pharoh in a duel, basically, beat yugi, and obtain his millenium puzzle. malik doesn't really duel any of the duels himself, he duels all of his opponents with his millenium rod, which has the power to control minds. he and his mind slaves, also known as his rare hunters, battle yugi and his friends. he even kidnaps yugi's best friend joey to duel against yugi, but doesn't come out victorious. malik starts to duel on his own during the finals. first, rishid pretends to be malik, but when he tries to summon a fake ra card, he is exposed as rishid. when rishid is hurt from the lightening strike from ra's fury, he is unable to contain malik's dark side, and yami is again set free.
